Joe Joyce is swapping the boxing ring for the big screen.The Olympic silver medallist and former highly-ranked professional heavyweight makes his acting debut in a soon-to-be-released short film.Joyce stars in the short film, ‘The Fall Guys’, screening in OctoberJoyce plays the main protagonist ‘Frank’ in the Reel Scene Production ‘The Fall Guys’ – not to be mistaken for the action comedy ‘The Fall Guy’ starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. According to the film’s description, ‘The Fall Guys’ “is a darkly comedic thriller that follows two down-on-their-luck hitmen whose botched assignment collides with the unsuspecting lives of a group of friends on a weekend getaway.”Joyce took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that the feature film has been selected for the Marbella Film Festival and will be screened on October 8 at 6pm.‘The Juggernaut’ has been working hard to improve his public speaking skills with a coach since 2022, and joined an acting school last year in preparation for life after boxing.Joyce has only won one of his last six fights, and calls for his retirement have only grown louder after his most recent defeat.The 41-year-old was stopped in the 11th round by Russia’s Artem Suslenkov after Joyce held up his hand and gestured that he could not continue following a barrage of shots.Most assumed that Joyce would hang up his gloves in the aftermath of the crushing defeat.However, Joyce appeared on talkSPORT days later to declare that he would box on. “No I’m not retiring,” said Joyce.
