It's much more common to pay someone to take care of your pets than to have someone pay you rent while you take care of your pets. That's not even getting into whether this is even financially sound or not. It's not like shorter term rentals don't exist outside of Airbnb. Just because some people don't know how to look for them doesn't mean they're impossible to find
