Chipotle repeatedly breaks consumer protection laws and gets away with it time and time again

It is a businesses legal responsibility to refund unfulfilled goods. I am finding so many stories of people complaining that Pepper did not properly assist them with their issue. That they didn’t refund missing items, didn’t offer refunds for orders sent to the wrong location, app glitches. If you look it up, you can find a million versions of “Pepper didn’t refund undelivered goods”. In scenarios where people order online, and the order goes to the wrong location, they will not refund the order even if the team has confirmed over the phone that they have not started making the order. In this scenario, the automated systems demands you place a second order before it’ll even consider a refund. They demand more of people’s money before helping them. There is no feature built into the app to ensure consumers are ordering from the correct location. Subway has it. Dunkin has it. The software exists, Chipotle just doesn’t care to protect consumers. When people receive their order missing an item, Pepper responds with free drinks. Getting a refund from Chipotle for undelivered goods is near impossible. Getting a live human to help seems even harder. Where’s the class action lawsuit? There are a lot of people who have had this experience and have had to dispute with their bank. To me, that sounds like a company doing something illegal that has harmed a large mass of people to roughly the same extent. If you find yourself in this scenario, dispute with your bank as soon as the charge clears in your bank account. If you feel powerless, report to the attorney general of your state and hope others do as well. submitted by /u/Sea-Disaster3465 [link] [comments]
