Bloodstock agent Valredo Valiani labelled the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale as one of his favourites after signing for the €52,000 Part 2 top lot Lope De Vega colt from Castlebridge, which brought the popular Italian native's haul this week to 10. All of Valiani's recruits will continue their careers in his native country, with the former trainer-turned-bloodstock agent putting on the record what a great job he feels Tattersalls Ireland do in attracting a broad international buying bench at all levels for this sale. He said, “I bought 10 this week and, actually, I was able to buy pretty much everything I wanted to buy. I thought there was good value for money, and I think it was a good sale. Everything that I bought is going to Italy and the Lope De Vega will go to Stefano Botti, who is one of the best trainers in Italy. I definitely think my money went a little further this year compared to other years. And, you know, it's not a very long time that I've been doing this job. It's only my eighth year, so I feel that each year I'm learning a bit more. This year, I think I've got better horses, to be sincere.”Valiani added, “I like going to every sale, but I must say that Tattersalls Ireland has done a hell of a job with this sale. It's improved a lot. They've got nicer and nicer horses, and a lot of people like to come here to Ireland and buy here. I know from speaking with my fellow Italians, we like to buy here because it's in the European Union and we pay less for transport and documents compared to Britain.”The Lope De Vega colt was bred by the late Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum and hails from the family of Enable, which was an added attraction, according to the agent. He said of the Part 2 top lot, “I'm pretty happy with my week's work on the whole but especially to get the Lope De Vega colt today. He is a horse I liked a lot, and I was a bit afraid I wouldn't be able to get him because I thought he could have been interesting for the breeze-up consignors as well. He looked sharp, so I wasn't sure if I was going to have the money, but a couple of clients of mine told me to do my best, which I did.”Valiani added, “The horse was clean and vetted very well. I liked him. He's quite a nice mover. He's not the biggest one, but he's a Lope De Vega, and has great bone and substance. Being out of a young Dansili mare, I thought we should have a go. He comes from a nice family anyway – I mean, it's Enable's family, so it could be interesting.”The Part 2 aggregate of €2,039,100 is an increase of 9% on 2025 and is the second time in the sale's history that it has topped €2 million. The clearance rate ended at a satisfactory 85%.Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins commented, “The excellent trade witnessed across the last two days continued into Part 2, which saw consistent demand from the opening lot through to the finish, with turnover surpassing €2 million. Given the strength of the market on Tuesday and Wednesday, quite a few purchasers still had orders to fill, and a clearance rate of 85% highlights the strong demand that was existent throughout the day.“A particular mention must go to our international clients who were present across all levels of the market today and played a big part in the success of the sale. We saw buyers from Poland, Czech Republic and Italy featuring prominently on the leading buyers table having had outstanding success with their previous purchases at this sale it was pleasing to see so many return to buy.”He added, “Pinhookers were also busy ahead of the 2027 breeze up sales, and earlier this year we saw a number of Part II graduates hitting the headlights in the sales ring. We look forward to seeing some of today's yearlings back here at our record-breaking Breeze up Sale next May.”The post Valiani Praises Tattersalls Ireland For ‘Hell Of A Good Job’ After More Buyount Trade appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
