Sounds like a solid way to spend three evenings in October.Oktoberfest is returning to Valletta Waterfront for its second edition, taking over the historic promenade from 7th to 9th October 2026 for three nights of Bavarian-inspired fun, live entertainment, food, drinks and plenty of festive competition.Set against the backdrop of the Grand Harbour, the event will bring a slice of Bavaria to one of Malta’s most recognisable waterfront locations, while keeping plenty of local flavour in the mix.Whether you’re there for the beer, the food, the music or simply an excuse to meet up with friends, there’ll be plenty happening throughout each evening.A Bavarian celebration with a Maltese backdropPart of what makes Oktoberfest at Valletta Waterfront stand out is, quite literally, the setting.The event will unfold among the Waterfront’s beautifully restored 18th-century warehouses and along its historic promenade, with views stretching across the Grand Harbour towards the Three Cities.As the sun goes down, the Waterfront will take on a festival atmosphere, with music and entertainment spread between the main stage and promenade.Visitors can grab a drink, wander along the harbour, watch the ships coming and going or simply settle in for an evening of live entertainment.And, of course, there’ll be plenty of beer.This year’s selection will include a mix of local and international beers, including familiar favourites and craft brews, alongside non-alcoholic and gluten-free options and flavoured ciders.For those who want the full Oktoberfest experience, a €20 beer package includes four beer tokens and a complimentary reusable Oktoberfest cup, while stocks last.Not a beer person? No problem. The Waterfront’s restaurants and bars will remain open as normal, so visitors can enjoy the event without committing to the beer package.Three nights, three live music line-upsEntertainment gets underway from 6pm each evening, with live music building throughout the night.Wednesday 7th OctoberThe opening night will get things going with promenade buskers before Megan May takes to the stage at 7pm, with a second set at 8.45pm.There’ll also be Bavarian-style music, roaming entertainment and the return of the classic beer-drinking and pretzel-eating competitions.Later in the evening, crowd-pleasing tunes will turn up the energy and get people dancing along the Waterfront.Thursday 8th OctoberThursday brings Drakard to the stage, alongside Bavarian sounds, roaming entertainment and more of the festival’s competitions.Expect the music to get you dancing, with plenty of opportunities to grab a drink, catch up with friends and soak up the harbour views.Friday 9th OctoberThe final night will feature Janvil, bringing the three-day celebration to a close.The last evening will combine live music, games, entertainment and, one final chance to make the most of the Oktoberfest atmosphere.With performances taking place both on stage and along the promenade, there’ll be plenty to see even if you’re just wandering around the Waterfront.Food, drinks and a few competitive momentsBeer might be the star of Oktoberfest, but food is definitely part of the deal.
