AJWRB has published a new resource designed specifically for current Jehovah’s Witnesses following the September 2026 changes to the blood policy. The article explains, in straightforward terms, what has changed, what remains prohibited, and why Witnesses should make sure their treatment preferences reflect the current policy rather than older instructions or assumptions. It also includes a downloadable PDF that can be printed and shared. That was intentional. Not every Witness is comfortable navigating websites or finding updated policy information online, and a printed document may be much easier to use in a family or clinical setting. This may be especially useful for: ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses who want to make sure parents, relatives, or friends understand their current choices; non-Witness family members trying to help a Witness relative make an informed medical decision; physicians, nurses, ethics consultants, and other clinicians caring for Jehovah’s Witness patients; current Witnesses who want a clear summary they can review privately or discuss with their medical team. The purpose is not to tell anyone what medical decision to make. It is to help ensure that Jehovah’s Witness patients know what options are now matters of personal conscience and can make their own decisions based on accurate, current information.
