Authorities in Nagaland reported 19 deaths linked to spurious liquor consumption in Mokokchung and Tuensang districts. Police have arrested 19 individuals and seized approximately 3,000 bottles of illicit liquor. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to trace the source of the adulterated liquor. Forensic samples have been sent to Guwahati for examination to determine the cause of the deaths.
