Mozart, Bach, Bizet and Puccini will have their music played at a concert of sacred music, coming to Floriana to mark 800 years since the death of St Francis of Assisi.Aptly named Franġisku, the concert, which is being presented by the Vilhena Philharmonic Society, will be led by Maestro George Debono, with the participation of the Amadeus Chamber Choir and soloists Ruth Casingena and Charles Vincenti.Floriana has long had a special relationship with St. Francis of Assisi, largely because the Capuchin Convent has been there since 1588. A devoted niche dedicated to the saint is also located in the street bearing his name.Held on Saturday 17th October at 7.30pm at the Holy Cross Church of the Capuchin Friars in Floriana, the event is completely free of charge and also includes a reception after the concert.Send this to someone who’d love to check this out!•
