For the last few months I've been building a captioning tool, and the reason it exists is pure annoyance. Every caption tool I tried claimed to support dozens of languages, but the moment you fed it anything outside plain English — or a sentence that switches languages mid-way, which happens constantly in everyday speech — the timing fell apart and words got mangled or dropped entirely. So I built my own. It's focused on getting word-level timing right for languages that usually get treated as an afterthought — Hindi and Gujarati right now, more coming.
