A repo agent recently discovered a Mustang that had been absolutely destroyed by its owner in a fit of rage, with the vehicle covered in everything from paint remover to hardened expanding foam. The situation in Maryland was captured on video and reshared by MustangOEMParts on Instagram, where it quickly racked up 680K views. In the caption, he wrote: “Poor Mustang ruined by idi-t owner because of it being repoed”. In the video, the repo agent admits that she first thought the car was covered in bird droppings. As she walked towards the car, she states, “So I’m picking up this Mustang, and upon first glance I’m like, ‘Damn, that’s a lot of bird sh-t.’” She then zooms in and moves the paint, drying, saying, “ No? No. That’s like melted paint. Okay. Interesting.” Then, as she walks around the muscle car, the true extent of the vandalism becomes clear. The hood and bonnet have sections where the body paint has been peeled away by chemical paint remover. The destruction only gets worse from there. With some jaunty music playing in the background, she walked to the gas cap, noting, “Oh, the gas cap’s open. Um. What? Okay. Now that’s weird.” What we all see at that moment is that someone had used a foam gun to inject expanding foam directly into the fuel tank. It just keeps getting worse Now, we don’t know who the original poster is. So we don’t know how much of what the post suggests is real. However, even to someone unaware of cars, the damage we see in the video is heartbreaking. This is a beautiful car that is rendered useless for now. As the agent walked around the car, we see that the vandal hit every part of the car that they could. At the end of it, as the agent looks at every ruined part, she admits to being confused. At the end, she only had one thing to say, “Well, um, um, what the f-ck is going on?” This level of destruction is particularly senseless when you consider the properties of the material used. While it might seem like a quick fix or a way to cause chaos, the foam reportedly encapsulates components and creates a massive headache for anyone tasked with repairs. Accable Solutions warns that the foam can also be a fire hazard, as it produces toxic gases and smoke when it burns. Additionally, it can even react chemically with other materials to break them down over time. Similarly, US Greenlink Energy Solutions highlights that expanding spray foam should never be used around electrical parts, outlets, or boxes. They note that the chemicals within the foam are flammable and can pose a serious fire risk if they come into contact with wiring or electrical components. US Greenlink noted that within construction, the material is versatile and is a powerful tool. However, it should always be installed by professionals who know where it is safe to apply. Additionally, it has nothing to do with cars. So, the ex-owner who destroyed this Mustang clearly ignored any common sense regarding the damage they were inflicting, both on the car and on their own financial future. Instagram users were quick to point out that he has made things more difficult for himself, but making his legal and financial reality tougher. One user commented, “Ah yes.
