Falling Petals (Raven's Pass), the dam of dual Group 1 winner Saffron Beach (New Bay), will be offered in foal to Night Of Thunder during the inaugural Chicquita Session at the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale.Owned by China Horse Club and consigned by Ballylinch Stud, the 14-year-old Falling Petals is the dam of five winners from six runners to date, most notably the aforementioned Saffron Beach, the winner of the Sun Chariot Stakes and Prix Rothschild when trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam.The daughter of Raven's Pass is also responsible for Goldie Trickett, a winning full-sister to Saffron Beach who was purchased for €1.65 million at Book 1 of the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale in 2023, while her yearling colt by New Bay will go under the hammer at the same sale when he is offered as lot 1 on Monday, September 28.Falling Petals is herself out of the Listed Silver Tankard Stakes runner-up Infinite Spirit (Maria's Mon), whose other notable progeny include the G1 Middle Park Stakes third Huntdown (Elusive Quality) and the unraced Continua (Elusive Quality), the dam of the multiple Group-winning sire Cotai Glory.She is the first star name to be confirmed for the brand-new Chicquita Session, which will take place on Friday, November 20.
