But for Travis Kelce’s first away game this afternoon, Swift wasn’t seen at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.Swift’s apparent absence is understandable, though, given her work schedule: She has a big evening ahead of her in Los Angeles, where she is nominated for 11 awards at the MTV VMAs. She is also being honored with the ceremony’s inaugural Artist Director Honors award.Swift typically only attends Kelce’s home games, in part due to the security risk away stadiums pose for her. (She has not been seen at any away games for the past two seasons.)Still, she is a huge Chiefs fan, though her relationship with football has changed drastically thanks to Kelce. The singer admitted that prior to dating the tight end, she didn’t know much about the sport. “You’re so nonjudgmental about people, and you were nonjudgemental [about me not knowing anything about football]...You were so nice,” she told him during her August 2025 appearance on his podcast, New Heights.As she continued to date him, she grew to like football more and more. “I fell in love with it,” she said. “I became obsessed with it.”A year later, Kelce spoke with Tom Cruise on New Heights about Swift’s expertise. “Now she knows everything [about the sport],” he said during the September 18 episode. “She sees the flags coming in like, ‘Oh, that might be a defensive hold.’ I was like, ‘What’d you say, sweetie?’ Oh, she was right. She’s like, ‘That’s encroachment.’ I’m like, ‘Do you know what that is?’ She’s on it now.”
