https://imgur.com/a/HmvlRyM Hi r/sideproject! The reason behind this is quite simple — personal experience pushed us to find a way to track even the smallest progress, but standard apps and paper trackers just didn’t click. As I dived deeper into mental wellness practices and habit building, the idea came naturally. It’s definitely not a brand-new concept, but a couple of features we tailored for ourselves turned out to be really effective. It’s not a scientifically proven tool, though a specialist friend of ours gave it a thumbs up. That’s how I ended up launching Treecker online — a minimal service that generates custom, printable habit trackers shaped like trees. How it works: You choose a tree type (Oak, Cypress, Pear, etc.). Use the slider to adjust the density. You just eyeball it until the volume feels right for you. Download the PDF, print it out, and color in the circles whenever you take action. The core concept (How the tree "grows"): There is a tiny visual hint on the printout: solid-line circles form the trunk, while dotted-line circles form the crown. When working on a habit, it’s best to fill in the trunk first (though it’s entirely up to you). This way, your progress literally roots itself, grows, and then the crown blossoms. Built with Claude: Although I have some tech experience, Claude handled the entire final build. To be honest, most of the tokens went into translating the app into other languages and verifying the "tone of voice" (since I only speak two languages fluently, and even this post is written with a double-check — English is not my native language). So, if anything sounds weird or unnatural to a native speaker, please let me know! :) Why we made it like this: No registrations: Just open the site, use it, and download instantly. Analog tracking: I’ve discovered the value of written practices for myself. Physical coloring introduces a bit of "friction" that the brain registers much better than a quick tap on a smartphone button. No racing, no guilt: Many apps I liked at first eventually caused stress and a sense of obligation (especially streaks). We completely removed that here. Accumulation: Once a sheet is full, nothing stops you from downloading a new one, naming it, and starting over. Eventually, your tracking becomes a stack of papers — your own little grown forest. This mini-service is completely free. The language is detected via your browser, defaulting to English. I’d love to get your honest feedback. https://treecker.online submitted by /u/a-belov to r/SideProject [link] [comments]
