Brighton’s stance has been revealed after manager Fabian Hurzeler was linked with Manchester United and Tottenham.Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi is already under fire after just five Premier League games this season.Spurs sit at the bottom of the table following a winless run in the league, marking their worst start to a campaign after five matches. Their only victory so far this season came against Championship side Charlton Athletic in round two of the Carabao Cup.Tottenham have not only struggled in the league but have also been knocked out of the League Cup after failing to beat Liverpool in round three, further limiting their chances of silverware.Photo by Mike Hewitt/Getty ImagesBrighton’s stance on Fabian Hurzeler amid Tottenham linksThis poor run has naturally increased pressure on De Zerbi, with some in the media calling for the Italian to be sacked and Mauricio Pochettino to return to north London.Spurs have also been linked with several other managers, including Kieran McKenna, who is currently out of work and reportedly open to taking over at either Manchester United or Tottenham.Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has also been linked with Spurs following De Zerbi’s slow start, and now Football Insider has revealed the Seagulls’ stance on their manager.Pete O’Rourke wrote: “It would take a lot for them to let him go any time soon, because Brighton do not want to lose Fabian Hurzeler.“He’s done a great job down on the south coast, he’s really made big strides at Brighton and helped the club make some real progress.“Hurzeler is attracting a lot of attention because of what he’s done at Brighton with his aggressive style of football and an attacking style as well, so no surprise that maybe other clubs are looking at him.“But Brighton are quite relaxed on this one and he was rewarded for his progress with the new contract in May to keep him at the club until 2029.”Spurs continue to back De Zerbi despite Fabian Hurzeler linksThe latest links are not surprising given the Premier League table. Brighton sit third after a stellar start to the 2026-27 season, while Spurs are bottom.The Seagulls have also been the league’s biggest entertainers, with no club scoring more goals this campaign. In their most recent outing, they put three past Arsenal – something last achieved by Brighton themselves in 2023.Understandably, Hurzeler is attracting interest, but Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham continue to support De Zerbi despite his slow start.Romano said: “Tottenham decided to back Roberto De Zerbi in the summer by trusting his ideas. Obviously, not everything was possible, but it was still a very ambitious market, a very expensive market.“When I say not everything, for example, Cody Gakpo, top target, but was no longer available. And then more things they wanted to do, but it’s normal. At no club do they complete the perfect market. But still, big investments and top players signed. So, the message from Tottenham, as of today, remains a message of confidence in Roberto De Zerbi. So at the moment I don’t have any indication of Tottenham exploring different ways.“I’m told that Tottenham still believe in the manager. I’m told Tottenham knew it was going to take time.
