Samsung has launched a new Galaxy A series smartphone, the Galaxy A27. As you might have figured out from the name, it is a successor to the Galaxy A26 and sits between the Galaxy A17 and the Galaxy A37.The new model brings notable upgrades over its predecessor across multiple areas, including design, display, performance, and cameras. Here's everything you need to know about its features, pricing, and availability.First Galaxy A2x device with Infinity-O displayThe Galaxy A27 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It is the first device in the Galaxy A2x lineup to feature a screen with Infinity-O (punch-hole) for the front-facing camera, as opposed to Infinity-U (U-shaped notch) on the Galaxy A26. The brand says that the display has much thinner bezels compared to those on the previous model.Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC offers faster performanceThe Galaxy A27 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. According to the company, the phone offers 7% higher CPU and 8% faster GPU performance than the Galaxy A26, which features the Exynos 1380 SoC. The processor is mated to LPDDR5X RAM, which, the tech giant claims, offers 50% faster performance than the memory chip in the Galaxy A26, and UFS 3.1 storage. You get three RAM and storage options to choose from: 6GB +128GB, 8GB+ 128GB, and 8GB+256GB. There is also a micro SD card slot onboard support cards up to 2TB.Six major OS upgrades promiseSamsung is shipping the phone with One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) and has promised to offer it six major OS upgrades and security updates for six years. It comes with some AI features, including Google Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and Voice Transcription. There's also Google Gemini, Perplexity, and Bixby on board.New front and rear camera setupsAt the rear, there are three cameras: a 50MP sensor with a wide lens, OIS, and 4K/30FPS video recording, a 5MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP sensor with a macro lens. While the primary and macro cameras remain unchanged from the Galaxy A26, the ultra-wide camera has been downgraded from 8MP to 5MP. Despite this, the brand claims the Galaxy A27 offers a segment-leading camera experience. At the front, there is a 12MP camera with HDR support. Although its resolution is slightly lower than that of the Galaxy A26's selfie camera (12MP versus 13MP), the company has switched to a newer and more advanced sensor, which should deliver better overall image quality. The South Korean tech giant hasn't revealed what resolution and frame rates it can record videos at. We assume that it maxes out at 1080p/30FPS.Same battery capacity and charging speed as beforeThe Galaxy A27 has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging, the same as its predecessor. The phone measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8mm and weighs 200 grams. It is also dust and water-resistant, and for that, it features an IP64 rating, a downgrade compared to the Galaxy A26's IP67 rating. Samsung is offering it in three color options: Black, Blue, Light Green, and Light Pink.Price and availabilitySamsung has priced the base variant of the Galaxy A27 at EUR 349 in Europe. Pricing of other regions is still under wraps. The brand says that it will make the phone available to purchase in select markets starting July 3, 2026.
