Christian Pulisic is in demand. The 27-year-old is currently on duty representing the United States men’s national team at the 2026 World Cup on home soil. Christian Pulisic has gathered interest from the MLSGettyDespite suffering a calf injury in the USMNT’s opening group stage game against Paraguay which forced him to be replaced at half time on June 12, the headlines have continued to be centered around the face of American soccer. This comes as reports have emerged that state that Major League Soccer (MLS) club New York City FC are looking to make a move for the forward, reportedly offering a salary of $11.3 million per season over a five-year contract. However, Pulisic’s current club AC Milan have made it very clear that he is not for sale. Should Milan soften their stance, though, then the expectation is that other MLS clubs will join NYCFC in pursuit of the star, according to The Athletic. As it stands, Pulisic – who has 33 goals and 21 assists in 100 games for Milan – is under contract with the Serie A juggernauts through next summer, but Milan have the option to trigger a one-year extension. However, Milan are currently undergoing a rebuild period having missed out on Champions League qualification for next season due to a fifth-placed finish in the league. Maximiliano Allegri was subsequently sacked, with the team bringing in former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim as his replacement. Sporting director Igli Tare, chief executive Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada all also departed the club after the 2025-26 campaign ended. It remains to be seen whether Pulisic, who recorded eight goals and six assists in 1,611 minutes for Milan last season, will be in Amorim’s plans going forward. Pulisic has attracted the attention of MLS club NYCFC, but AC Milan don’t appear to be willing to sell the American wingerGettyFor now, all focus for Pulisic is on the World CupGettyIt is also a period of transformation for NYCFC in the MLS, with plans to move into a brand new stadium set to open in the summer of 2027. The Boys in Blue would love nothing more than entering a new era of football by welcoming a marquee signing, such as that of Pulisic. Of course, in the past, they fielded the likes of European superstars Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo and David Villa, albeit in the twilight of their respective careers. As of now, though, the winger remains solely focused on the USMNT and the World Cup. Pulisic on track to feature for USMNT on ThursdayHaving been unable to feature in the USMNT’s 2-0 victory over Australia in their second group game, which secured their position as winners of Group D, Pulisic is reportedly on track to play a role in their final group outing against Türkiye on Thursday. “I’m feeling good,” Pulisic told reporters on Wednesday. “I joined with the team in the last few days, so I’m feeling good, feeling positive, and hopefully I’ll be able to play a part tomorrow.”Pulisic also revealed that the injury stemmed from a kick to his calf in training prior to the Paraguay game, but that “adrenaline” had carried him during the first half before he was substituted. USMNT have won both their opening group games, even with the absence of PulisicGettyThe American’s leading talisman, who has 33 goals in 87 appearances for his country further stated that he found it difficult to sit out of the Australia game. “Honestly, it was tough after the first game, just knowing that I felt a little something,” Pulisic said. “I never really feared the worst, but I obviously didn’t want it to keep me out any longer than I had to.”Fortunately, he has a greater pool of teammates around him than ever before, with Folarin Balogun having been a particular standout for the USMNT at this tournament with two goals. “When you win your last game, you go into the next one with that little bit of extra good feeling,” Pulisic added. “That winning mentality feeling sticks with you. My teammates have made it so much easier on me because they got another incredible win.”Regardless of the result against Türkiye, Pulisic and co have a 99 percent chance of facing Bosnia & Herzegovina in the Round of 32, which is set to be played in San Francisco on July 1.
