Tributes continue to pour in following the passing of Police Constable Rico Aquilina, with organisations across Malta remembering him as a dedicated leader, mentor and friend.The Scout Association of Malta paid tribute to Aquilina, describing him as “a dedicated Venture Leader whose positive spirit, collaborative nature, and observant character touched the lives of many.”“Through his guidance, support, and commitment, he left a lasting impact on our scouting family,” the association said, adding that his “legacy lives on through the countless memories, lessons, and adventures he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.”The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Malta also honoured Aquilina’s memory, describing him as “a cherished member” of its community and an Award Leader within the Mellieħa Scout Group.“His friendship, dedication and positive spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him,” the organisation said. “He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by the Award, the Scouting community and beyond.”Both organisations extended their condolences to Aquilina’s family and loved ones, with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Malta concluding its tribute with the words: “Rest easy, Rico.”The Malta Police Force announced Aquilina’s passing on Wednesday, prompting an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, friends and members of the public.Lovin Malta extends its deepest condolences to Rico Aquilina’s family, friends and everyone mourning his loss.•
