Two afternoon seminars, 'Raising the Young Horse in Today's Environment', will be held by Saracen Horse Feeds and the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (TBA) in July. Set for Tuesday, July 21 at the Owner's Club at Newbury and Thursday, July 23 at Tattersalls in Newmarket, the free seminars celebrate the 25-year partnership between Saracen Horse Feeds and Kentucky Equine Research.The seminars are open to breeders, vets, farriers and all thoroughbred industry professionals. The sessions have been accredited with the CPD Certification Service, which means that delegates will be eligible to qualify for hours/points by attending.Dr. Joe Pagan is the president and founder of Kentucky Equine Research and will be the keynote speaker. He has led research on the effects of nutrition, environment and growth for more than 35 years. Lunch and refreshments will be available from midday onwards before the seminars begin at 1:30 pm. Dr. Pagan, will be presenting his research findings on growth and development alongside Dr. Martin Nielsen, who will cover the evolving challenges of worming in modern Thoroughbred management, and Dr. Rebecca Mouncey, who will explore how early-life experiences shape long-term health, behaviour and performance.Nick Wingfield Digby from Rossdales will chair the two discussion panels with the speakers and three veterinary specialists local to each venue. The veterinary panel at the Newbury session will be Robert Dallas (Rossdales), Fil De Oliveira (Donnington Grove Equine Vets), and Pat Sells (Arrowdown Equine Vets).
