Earlier this morning a building scaffolding collapsed onto Triq Reggie Miller in Gżira, with footage showing the terrifying moment the scaffolding narrowly missed passing cars on the busy street.Footage from CCTV appears to show an excavator operating on the construction site moments before the collapse, with the scaffolding suddenly giving way and crashing onto the road in a cloud of limestone dust and debris.It remains unclear whether the machinery directly contributed to the collapse, and the cause is still under investigation.Civil Protection Department crews and other emergency services rushed to the site, with officials beginning investigations into what happened. CPD later confirmed that no injuries were reported.One onlooker described hearing a “huge boom” while walking along the street.“I looked up and saw the entire scaffolding collapse, with limestone dust and debris flying everywhere.
