HOW TO: Use Vertex Algo USDJPYUSD/JPYOANDA:USDJPYvertexalgoThis tutorial explains the recommended setup and workflow for using this strategy within its supported trading environment. ## Supported Chart Configuration This strategy has been developed and evaluated using the following configuration: • Symbol: USDJPY • Timeframe: 15 Minutes (M15) • Chart Type: Standard Candlestick • Reference Market Data: OANDA The strategy validates the supported symbol and timeframe before becoming active. For the intended behavior and evaluated results, it should be used on a USDJPY M15 Standard Candlestick chart. Although development and evaluation were performed using OANDA market data, the strategy is generally expected to operate consistently with USDJPY data from other providers. ## Position Management The strategy is designed to maintain a single directional market position. If a Buy Entry alert is generated while a Sell position is still open, close the Sell position before opening the Buy position. Likewise, if a Sell Entry alert is generated while a Buy position is still open, close the Buy position before opening the Sell position. When using an Expert Advisor or another compatible execution solution, it is recommended to enable Close on Reverse so that opposite positions are closed automatically before opening a new position. ## Risk Management Trade management is handled internally using a proprietary rule-based framework. Buy Exit and Sell Exit alerts are protective exit signals that instruct an existing position to be closed. These alerts are intended only to close an existing position and are not entry signals for opening a new trade. Position sizing can be configured through the TradingView settings. ## TradingView Alerts The strategy supports TradingView Alerts for both manual trading and automated execution. Depending on the current strategy state, alerts may include: • Buy Entry • Sell Entry • Buy Exit • Sell Exit • Periodic unrealized position status updates while a position remains active. Entry alerts indicate opportunities to open new positions. Exit alerts indicate that an existing position should be closed. Periodic position status updates provide ongoing information about the unrealized profit or loss of the current open position, allowing users to remain informed without continuously monitoring the chart. ## Workflow 1. Open a USDJPY M15 Standard Candlestick chart. 2. Apply the strategy to the chart. 3. Configure the desired position size. 4. Create the required TradingView Alerts. 5. If using an Expert Advisor or another compatible execution solution, enable Close on Reverse and ensure the execution solution is configured according to the recommended setup. 6. Follow Buy Entry and Sell Entry alerts to open new positions. If an opposite position is already open, close it before opening the new position. 7. Follow Buy Exit and Sell Exit alerts to close existing positions. 8. Review the periodic unrealized position status updates while the position remains active. ## Additional Notes The strategy is designed to operate with minimal external configuration. For normal operation, users only need to: • Use the supported chart configuration. • Configure the desired position size. • Create the required TradingView Alerts. • Follow the generated alerts according to the workflow described above. If an Expert Advisor or another automated execution solution is used, following the recommended execution setup is essential. Execution settings have a significant impact on trading behavior, and incorrect configuration may cause the executed trades to differ substantially from the strategy's evaluated behavior on TradingView. This tutorial explains how to use the strategy and does not disclose implementation details, proprietary calculations, internal decision rules, or strategy logic.
