The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, 2023, and was initially launched between Ahmedabad and Jamnagar. With the revision, the service will be renamed as Sabarmati-Okha Vande Bharat Express. It means this semi-high-speed train will originate and terminate at Sabarmati railway station instead of Ahmedabad railway station in Gujarat. The train is being maintained and operated by the Western Railway (WR) zone.In a letter to the WR on June 16, the RB said: “Change in Timings, Change in Days of Run & Change in Terminal of 22925/22926 Ahmedabad–Okha Vande Bharat Express…Regarding the stoppage of 22925/22926 Ahmedabad-Okha Vande Bharat Express at Ambli Road, the Ministry of Railways approves the said proposals.”It also asked the zonal railway to make the changes with effect from the Advance Reservation Period or No Booking Date.Sabarmati-Okha Vande Bharat Express: Distance, Travel TimeThe Sabarmati-Okha Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 493 km in 06:30 hrs. The train will run on all days of the week except Tuesday. This train comprises AC Chair car and Executive Chair car.Sabarmati-Okha Vande Bharat train: StoppagesDuring its journey between Sabarmati and Okha, train number 22925/22926 Vande Bharat Express will halt at eight stations enroute. These are: Ambli Road, Sanad, Virmgam, Surendrnagar, Wankaner, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Dwarka.Sabarmati-Okha Vande Bharat Express: TimingUnder the revised schedule, train number 22925 Sabarmati-Okha Vande Bharat Express will depart from Sabarmati at 6:15 am and arrive in Okha at 1:20 pm.
