Chandigarh, A magnificent unbeaten century by Nikhil Kumar guided Rock Garden Warriors to a commanding 61-run victory over Chandigarh Kings in the grand finale of the OMAXE Chandigarh Premier League organised by the UT Cricket Association, at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula on Friday.Nikhil Kumar played one of the finest innings of the tournament, remaining unbeaten on 103 off just 54 deliveries with eight boundaries and seven towering sixes to propel Rock Garden Warriors to a formidable total of 211 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. His explosive knock, coupled with useful contributions from skipper Dipender Kush (33) and Abhishek Singh (16 not out off 5 balls), laid the foundation for the title-winning performance. Opener Aarush Bhandari also added 22 runs.In reply, defending champions Chandigarh Kings could only manage 150 runs. Captain Shivam Bhambri led the initial charge with a brisk 35 off 15 balls while Gaurav Gambhir remained unbeaten on 22. However, the Rock Garden Warriors bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings.
