By Mulengera ReportersPredicting that she could die anytime, actually sooner than many Ugandans think, former Kampala Central MP Mohammed Nsereko has called on the people of Uganda and the clergy to pray for former Speaker Annet Anita Among. During a Monday late night Tik Tok live session, Mohammed Nsereko delivered the same as breaking news; making it clear that he personally had visited Anita Among at her home in Kampala and that he was appalled over the frail state of health he found her in. He said that Anita Among is now very reflective and wishes that those currently wielding a lot of power and going ahead to use it to destroy fellow citizens like Erias Lukwago, should learn from her ‘grace to grass’ story and slow down, because its now very clear to her that no power lasts forever. Nsereko spoke of the former Speaker’s feet being scaringly swollen to the extent that he too broke down wailing when he looked at the extent vulnerability and helplessness to which the former very powerful head of the Ugandan legislature had sunk in such a short time. Nsereko said that even Anita Among personally couldn’t properly explain to him what was happening to her rapidly deteriorating and shrinking health. He hinted at multiple ailments tormenting her including unexplainable blood clot-related conditions similar to what the much-loved BBS TV journalist Joseph Mary Seruwooza succumbed to a few days ago. Nsereko explained that Anita Among was also in total shock to see how fast the two important things she had in plenty had deserted her in such a short time. These are money and power. Nsereko said that Anita Among was rightly feeling emotionally crashed beyond repair because of the fact that hundreds of powerful leaders who used to frequent her residential palaces and office had all of a sudden turned their back on her in such a short time and have now totally deserted on her. They seldom take her phone calls or respond in any way. They used to flock her residences and office yet now, none of them wants to know how she is doing. That she is hurting over the fact that no one bothers to check on her anymore or send any words of encouragement as she continues facing a very uncertain future. Nsereko asserted that Anita Among was also emotionally tormented over the fact that MPs and religious leaders, the bishops, who used to eat in her palm have all deserted her and none of them is willing to publicly stand in solidarity with her while denouncing the state security agencies for persecuting and humiliating her while taking away her properties including vehicles and houses. She is also sleepless over the fact that those who viciously took away her posh cars to ensure her extreme humiliation could in the end advocate for seizure and confiscation of her private business assets including the stadium, the livestock farms, large tracts of land, the media establishment, her residential palaces and the nursing training facility too. Nsereko told thousands of his Tik Tok followers that, unlike the much-loved Erias Lukwago, in whose favour many Ugandans and East Africans have been very outspoken while denouncing the Ugandan CDF, Anita Among is puzzled that in her case, nobody is willing to raise a finger and say something for fear of retribution from Gen Museveni’s son. He said that the hypertensive former Speaker is scared and swollen in a funny way and those close to her are afraid that she is going to die of the physical and psychological torment she has endured from all directions. There also claims that inability to continue having access to her original medical team, because some members fled fearing for their lives when this whole thing started, has also greatly disturbed the naturally very cowardly Anita Among who continues to be under 24-hour surveillance by the military. The UK and US sanctions, which she originally mocked and disregarded as not capable of diminishing her in any way, have also finally taken a huge toll on the naturally very unsophisticated legislator from Bukedea whose every aspect of life has attracted investigations of some sort. Sources say that she actually doesn’t have that much money left on her anymore and can’t freely use her bank accounts or even mobile money means to freely make any direct transactions. And more recently, Among became even more frightened when investigators interrogated some big man from Bank of Uganda on why they had been allowing cash to be delivered to facilitate clandestine political work for the top leadership of Parliament, directly from the consolidated fund. Quite often, such huge sums of money would even be carried in bullion vans, something the Central Bank is only supposed to do in favour of State House. The same requires express authorization of the President who technically is the country’s Minister of Finance. The Bank of Uganda top official told the investigators that they authorized and kept doing that because they were under the impression that this was something the H.E had authorized, whereas not. The impending investigations into controversial land acquisition in the Kira area by some of the close people in her universe is another cause of reason why the former Speaker has to be super worried. The same Bank of Uganda top echelons official also confessed to investigators many other things, which amounted to throwing the former Speaker under the bus. Yet that isn’t all demonstrating the extent of her isolation. Even many of Anita Among’s former proteges at Parliament have volunteered a lot of very damaging information to the investigators; purporting to implicate the former boss lady in a lot of wrongdoing. Some have offered to serve as star witnesses for the state to ensure that she gets convicted at the end of the impending criminal trial. Mohammed Nsereko says that all this betrayal has combined to make Anita Among to be currently the emotionally most stressed public official in Uganda. She also feels abandoned by those who used to eat from her palm; alone and frightened. She has occasionally called such traitors via telephone to painfully declare to them “it wouldn’t have been you of all people.” Naturally, she is also hurting over the fact that the ordinary Ugandans even in her native Bukedea have only exhibited extreme resentment towards her even when she is clearly vulnerable and going through unprecedented persecution. Mohammed Nsereko is wondering why the religious leaders in Uganda, who Anita Among used to financially support, can’t publicly come out and declare statements of solidarity in favour of the former Speaker. He is also wondering why the Teso cultural leadership hasn’t come out to publicly defend their daughter, the way the Kyabazingaship of Busoga did and prevailed when their Prof Wasswa Balunywa (formerly the Mubs Principal) was under siege.
