A 44-year-old man from Bosnia and Herzegovina has been charged in court after authorities allegedly discovered around 35 kilograms of suspected cocaine concealed inside a vehicle arriving in Malta from Sicily.The drugs are estimated to have a street value of approximately €4.5 million.According to police, the man was stopped by Customs officials while disembarking from the catamaran shortly after arriving from Sicily.Officials reportedly became suspicious due to his behaviour and requested police assistance.Following his arrest, the man was escorted to the Police garage in Floriana, where further searches were carried out.During the inspection, authorities allegedly discovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine hidden inside a compartment located in the middle section of the vehicle.The drugs amounted to approximately 35 kilograms.Magistrate Joseph Mifsud was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.The man was arraigned in court today before Magistrate Jean Paul Grech, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.He was remanded in custody at the Corradino Correctional Facility while investigations continue.•
