The cause of the fire is still being investigated.While the fire brigade reached the site in half an hour, no casualties were reported. However, the affected flat no. 2105 of SK Mahajan was damaged by then. Mahajan lives with his wife and two daughters, all aged reportedly 60, 54, 30 and 26 respectively.Residents expressed concerns about the apparent lack of a fire safety clearance and adequate firefighting infrastructure within the society, which is currently under insolvency and under the Interim Resolution Professional (IRP).Akhil Tiwari, a resident living two floors above on Tower 4 on the 23rd floor in flat no. 2304 told TOI that there are no firefighting systems in the society and no water pipes to address the issue.His apartment, which was on the side of the affected flat series) got spared from the flames even as smoke spread throughout the upper levels. Narayan emphasised that his team attempted to control the flames using the society’s hydrant system and water supply from adjacent towers.
