HISA Opens Comment Period On Proposed Updates To Lab Rules

The Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) is seeking public comment on proposed modifications to the Rule Series 6000 (Equine Standards for Laboratories and Accreditation) of its Anti-Doping and Medication Control (ADMC) Program, according to a press release from the regulator on Tuesday.The proposed modifications build on HISA's ongoing review of the ADMC Program. Last November, HISA distributed for public comment proposed modifications to Rule Series 1000, 3000 and 4000, and in January, sought comment for Rule Series 5000 and 7000. Comments received in response to these Rule Series are under review.The proposed updates to Rule Series 6000 of the ADMC Program include enhanced laboratory accreditation standards, expanded laboratory oversight and more.A memorandum summarizing the proposed modifications is available here. The redline reflects proposed updates compared to the version currently in effect and approved by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).HISA invites all interested parties to review the proposed modifications and submit comments by Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
