I made a terminal-first writing suite for Linux (editor, files, PDF, RSS, podcasts, more)

Wait 5 sec.

I love the terminal. Use it constantly. If I can do it in terminal, I usually do, but I noticed at some point that there's not really a terminal app for everything I'm trying to get done on my machine, and if there is, it's not in my preferred style: tiny, fast, grungy, old-school. GitHub: https://github.com/kjwat/simplesuite So I started writing them myself. What started as a text editor grew into a collection of ncurses applications for everyday use: text editor file manager PDF reader podcast client RSS reader radio player git frontend audio visualizer system monitor, clock and a tiny ncurses game. The whole thing is written in C, keyboard-driven, and intended to stay fast on modest hardware. So yeah, here it is. I use these tools every day, and they've become my primary workflow. If anyone else finds them useful, that's a bonus. Bug reports, portability fixes, and general feedback are welcome. submitted by /u/Final-Work2788 [link] [comments]
