UMMEUmeme Ltd.NSEKE_DLY:UMMEEquityWhaleUmme was listed in 2012 at an IPO price of Ksh 9.50. However, their 20-year electricity concession in Uganda ended on March 31st, 2025, with a buyout agreement still in court. Post-concession, Umeme’s distribution assets and operations were to be handed over to the state- owned Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) following a buyout. There was a partial payout at a rate of Ksh 9.48, but Umme is seeking a buyout price of at least Ksh 32.82. For Umme, we are buying the stock within our accumulation price range between Ksh 6.00 and 8.00 and waiting through the arbitration in hopes that it will be in favour of Umme. The stock price is currently trading below the IPO price and the price at which the government offered Umme at Ksh 9.58. We will be paying attention to the 24-month moving average and what the price does if it goes up to around Ksh 10.00.
