Sheebah Karungi has clarified details surrounding the surgery she underwent in India after giving birth, following mixed reactions to her emotional revelation on the latest episode of her podcast, Lets Talk About It.During the episode, Sheebah disclosed that she developed stress urinary incontinence after childbirth, a condition that caused her to leak urine involuntarily. Queen Sheebah said the complication forced her to endure physical discomfort while performing on stage, all while worrying that fans or cameras could capture embarrassing moments that might later circulate on social media.Following the episode, some people linked her condition to having a child later in life. However, Sheebah took to X to dismiss the claims, insisting that age had nothing to do with the birth injury she experienced. There are two things I’d like to clarify after sharing my birth story. First, my complication had nothing to do with my age. Pelvic birth injuries can happen to women of any age, whether you’re 17, 25, 35, or 40. Age alone is not the cause. She also addressed questions about why she had been allowed to push for two hours during labour. According to the singer, the decision was made jointly with her medical team before delivery.Sheebah Karungi returns to court after surgery in IndiaThe truth is, my medical team discussed it with me beforehand. They explained that I had a two-hour window to try for a vaginal birth, and if I didn’t deliver within that time, we would proceed with a C-section. From the beginning, I had made it clear that I wanted to avoid a C-section if it was safe to do so, so we followed that plan within the agreed medical limits.Sheebah emphasized that every woman’s childbirth experience is unique, saying she shared her story to create awareness rather than assign blame or discourage expectant mothers. My experience is just that, my experience. I shared it to raise awareness, not to blame anyone or spread fear. My goal is to encourage women to ask questions, understand the risks, and make informed decisions together with their healthcare providers.
