Harry Wilson set to join Leeds as free agent

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Harry Wilson has agreed to join Leeds United as a free agent when his contract with Fulham expires next week.Ornstein says that at Leeds they were surprised by a lack of competition to sign a player of such quality for free. The 29-year-old Wales international scored 10 goals and produced seven assists across 36 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers in 2025-26, and he was reportedly offered a new contract – which he rejected.Leeds pursued Wilson the previous summer too and had even reached an agreement with Fulham on the last day of the transfer window, but the paperwork was not submitted in time to meet the deadline, and the deal collapsed. Each club publicly laid blame on the other for the fiasco.A product of Liverpool’s academy, Wilson prefers to play as a right-winger or a central attacking midfielder, but he faced the reality of Klopp’s Liverpool rarely playing with a No. 10, and the spot on the right flank of attack firmly belonging to Mohamed Salah for a very long time. He played for six different clubs on loan, before finally joining Fulham permanently in 2022.The post Harry Wilson set to join Leeds as free agent appeared first on SoccerNews.
