Wednesday marked a new record price during the first session of the 2026 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, with Peter and Ross Doyle and Joe Tizzard shelling out €370,000 for a No Risk At All gelding already named Recognition.Sold as lot 117, the Sluggara Farm-consigned chestnut is a half-brother to a quintet of stakes winners over jumps anchored by Grade 1 scorers Brighterdaysahead (Kapgarde), Mighty Potter (Martaline) and Caldwell Potter (Martaline).“It is a great family, he is a beautiful physical, and we fell in love with him when we saw him,” said Joe Tizzard. “He is from a good family and is by a proper sire, and he made his money. We are coming off the back of a good season, had a few people interested and we did not want to let him go. He is for a group of existing owners.”The store was not the only one to clear €200,000, with another three horses breaking that threshold: lot 176, a Walk In The Park gelding consigned by Peter Nolan Bloodstock sold to Gordon Elliott Racing for €250,000; Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins picked up another Sluggara grad, Hermes Du Luy (lot 181), for €225,000 in a son of Doctor Dino; and Balthazart (Goliath Du Berlais) (lot 80) caught the eye of Joey Logan Bloodstock and Megan and Paul Nicholls from the consignment of Moanmore Stables for €210,000.Through the first day's trade, 158 horses sold (86%) for a gross of €9,731,500 (+36%). The average was €61,592 (+30%) and the median was €48,000 (+14%). A total of 23 lots made €100,000 or more. The post New €370K Record Set At Tattersalls Ireland’s Derby Sale appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
