One gaming laptop rules them all for price versus performance this Prime Day, and it's this 32 GB RTX 5070 Ti machine for $1,599

Wait 5 sec.

I'm a big fan of this mildly anachronistic gaming laptop. It's thick, can be loud, but it delivers on gaming performance and does so for an affordable price tag. The RTX 5070 Ti at its heart is a quality 12 GB mobile GPU, has a 140 W power limit, and if you run it on balanced mode you'll still get good gaming performance without the turbine whine of the fans. A great machine at a great price—with a speedy screen, too.Key specs: RTX 5070 Ti (140 W) | Core Ultra 7 255HX | 16-inch | 1600p | 240 Hz | 32 GB DDR5 | 1 TB SSDPrice check: Best Buy $1,779.99 (16 GB DDR5)View DealThe balance of price versus performance is something we're obsessed with here at PC Gamer, which is why we're big fans of MSI's Vector range of laptops. Our Dave reviewed the RTX 5080-equipped version of the MSI Vector 16 HX AI, and found it to deliver great frame rates for the cash. However, while the RTX 5080 version is still well north of $2,000, I've found this MSI Vector 16 HX AI with an RTX 5070 Ti on board for $1,599 at Walmart. It's stacked full of speedy components, and for this sort of cash I simply can't beat its price/performance combo, even in the middle of the Amazon Prime Day sales. We're curating all the best Prime Day PC gaming deals hereThe RTX 5070 Ti mobile is a very capable gaming GPU, particularly when it's pushed to a 140 W power limit. Combine that with a 240 Hz, 1600p screen, and this lappy starts to make all the others around the same price look a bit under-specced.FutureFutureFutureFutureFutureFutureFutureFutureFutureFutureSure, it'd be nice if it was an OLED. But hey, we're talking value here, and most OLED machines are much more expensive. The rest of the specs sheet is pretty mega, too, with a 20-core Intel chip handling the CPU duties and... hang on a minute, is that 32 GB of DDR5?Yep, even in the middle of the RAM crisis, this machine comes equipped with a generous amount of memory modules. 32 GB gaming laptop deals have become very rare in recent months, although I've been finding a few during this sales event regardless. It's also got a 1 TB SSD, which should provide ample room for a few games. Again, I'd love to see a 2 TB here, but SSD prices are still pretty hefty at the moment, so I'll take this one for the money.(Image credit: Future)There are a few drawbacks to this lappy. For a start, it's very noisy at top whack, but you can set the fan profile to balanced mode and even things out without sacrificing too much performance. It's also a bit... plastic fantastic, in terms of chassis design. Honestly, I've seen much worse—and it's not a huge deal when you get one in your hands. It's got fair amount of chonk, but it's not a bad-looking machine. In fact, we found it rather charming when it was passed it around the office. And yes, the battery life is rubbish, so it's not particularly portable. Still, if you're looking for a gaming laptop with high specs for reasonable prices this Prime Day, I can't find anything that beats this. All hail the Vector 16 HX AI. King of the value-based castle once again.👉Shop all the Walmart gaming laptop deals right here👈
