Screencap of Twitter/X video.Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman of Wyoming recently gave a speech on the House floor in which she urged all Americans to embrace patriotism and reject the identity politics of the left. She wants all Americans to be proud of America at our 250th birthday, a concept that seems lost on most Democrats.Harriet Hageman will always have a special place in the hearts of conservatives for ousting toxic former Rep. Liz Cheney. She makes some great points in her speech and you can watch some excerpts below.FOX News reports:Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., is sounding the alarm over polling revealing that a record-low number of Americans were “very proud” of their country last year.“In Gallup’s 25-year patriotism survey, just 17 percent, or less than 1 in 5 American adults, reported that they were ‘very proud’ of being an American,” Hageman said in a floor speech on Tuesday.“Our excitement for America has been dimmed by accusations of an unacceptable morality, our self-image tarnished by a novel self-flagellation,” she added.Hageman’s speech, set to be delivered in the coming week, argues that the country has a distinct cultural identity that merits preservation and urges readers to rekindle their appreciation of it on America’s 250th Independence Day.“We must stop pretending that America is just an idea, or that we have no shared culture worth fighting for,” Hageman wrote.“This does not mean that we reject other cultures or traditions. We instead welcome them here to partake in and succeed in the American way of life.”Here’s part of the speech:Our united history, culture, language, literature, art, and traditions long predate our independence. The story of who we are did not begin in 1776. It began with the people who built a shared way of life on this settled land and established the greatest force for good to ever… pic.twitter.com/XDvS4jwHHL— Rep. There is no “German Dream” or “French Dream.” There is no "Guatemalan Dream” or “Haitian Dream.” And it was never the “Somalian Dream.”… pic.twitter.com/11xyKvH1I4— Rep.
