Jamie O’Hara stormed out of the talkSPORT studio after Jason Cundy made another ‘ridiculous’ claim regarding Neymar.Cundy has made it well known that he doesn’t think that the Brazil legend should be seen as one of football’s icons.O’Hara couldn’t believe what Cundy said when comparing Neymar to other starsLast month, the former Chelsea defender claimed that Arsenal and England star Bukayo Saka was better than prime Neymar.O’Hara almost stormed out over that comment – but now, a few weeks on, he’s finally been tipped over the edge.Cundy has stated that he would take ex-Premier League striker Daniel Sturridge over Neymar in his team if he had the choice. The conversation reached breaking point after things started as a calm chat about some of the legends playing at the World Cup.O’Hara said on talkSPORT’s World Cup GameDay: “Cristiano Ronaldo, if he was English, at 41, would you take him to the World Cup? Cundy replied: “He wouldn’t play ahead of Harry Kane…possibly [he’d start over Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney], it’s hard, I don’t know. He’s still a goalscorer, put him in the right area…”Referencing some of the other superstars featuring in North America, O’Hara then said: “We’ve seen a lot of the old guard.“Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar came on the other day…”But Cundy quickly interrupted at the mention of Neymar, saying: “Don’t talk to me about Neymar, don’t.“I just find Neymar…he’s obviously a brilliant footballer, but I don’t get the hype around him. Don’t talk about him with Messi and Ronaldo in the same breath, that’s what’s annoyed me.”O’Hara and Cundy’s conversation about the World Cup stars got out of handCundy has made it clear that he’s not Neymar’s biggest fanGettyO’Hara went on to explain: “I’m talking about some of the greats at the World Cup here, and Neymar is one of them. Everyone is going to remember Neymar.”“He’s not a great,” Cundy replied. “Yes [Rivaldo is] a great, I’m not putting Neymar in the same breath…“He’s not going to be remembered for the reasons you’re saying – what’s he won?! What’s he won?!”O’Hara’s had enoughAnd as the heated quarrel continued, O’Hara threw a few more names at Cundy for him to compare Neymar against.“Is Gary Lineker a great?” O’Hara asked, before Cundy replied: “No, he’s an English great, but he’s not a world great. “Zinedine Zidane: A great…Dennis Bergkamp, yeah. I’d rather have Bergkamp in my team than Neymar. O’Hara couldn’t believe what Cundy said as he took Sturridge over Neymar“Wayne Rooney – I’d rather have him than Neymar. If you’re asking me now, who am I taking in their prime? Rooney every day of the week.“Give me Eden Hazard over Neymar. Give me Hazard.”O’Hara took major issue with that comment, exclaiming: “Hazard?! Give me a break…Hazard over Neymar! Your whole mentality towards Neymar is just outrageous.”Cundy then continued: “Cruyff: Great. Zidane: Great. In my lifetime that I’ve seen these players…Rivaldo, R9.”Soon after that, O’Hara would try to test just how much his co-host dislikes the idea of having Neymar in his team.He simply asked: “Would you have Marcus Rashford over Neymar?”Cundy would pick Sturridge and Rashford over Neymar if he couldGetty Images - GettyCundy replied ‘Give me Rashford’, leaving O’Hara baffled, as he said: “Are you having a laugh, Rashford?”Next, O’Hara asked: “Daniel Sturridge?” To which Cundy said: “Give me Sturridge every day of the week.”And that led to O’Hara getting up out of his chair and leaving the talkSPORT studio, saying: “This is ridiculous.” He walked away from the table and out of the door, leaving Cundy on his own, grinning down the camera. And he concluded: “If you don’t like the answer, don’t ask the question.”World Cup WhatsAppDon't miss an update from talkSPORT in our dedicated World Cup WhatsApp channel.Search for ‘talkSPORT World Cup’ in your ‘Updates’ tab on WhatsApp and we’ll drop the proper, unfiltered football chat straight to your lock screen—no fluff, just pure talkSPORT energy. It’s where you’ll find out all the new rules to watch out for, England and Scotland reaction and big match player ratings.
