Newly-appointed Health Minister Ian Borg has paid his first official visit to Mater Dei Hospital since taking over Malta’s health portfolio.Sharing details of the visit, Borg said he met with patients, relatives and healthcare workers to better understand the realities they face on a daily basis.The Deputy Prime Minister explained that the visit provided a clearer picture of the challenges currently affecting the healthcare system and the areas that require attention.“I heard about the realities that they face,” Borg said, adding that the experience helped him better understand the difficulties that need to be addressed.
