Massive fire at chemical factory in Electronics City; no casualties - The HinduPublished - June 28, 2026 08:57 pm IST - BengaluruImran Gowhar 10146A chemical factory manufacturing thinner was gutted in a massive fire that broke out in Electronics City on Sunday.The blaze, suspected to be accidental, spread rapidly due to the highly inflammable chemicals stored inside the factory, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and triggering panic among nearby residents.As the factory was closed on Sunday, no workers were present on the premises and no injuries or casualties were reported.According to the Fire and Emergency Services officials, an alert about the blaze was received at 5.13 p.m. The fire was reported at Divya imports, a Chemical factory in Electronics City.“Following the alert, four fire tenders were rushed to the spot to contain the blaze,” a Fire Department officer said.Firefighters launched an operation to prevent the flames from spreading to neighbouring establishments. Personnel from the Hebbagodi Police Station reached the spot to assist the firefighters and regulate traffic in the area.The Fire and Emergency Services Department, along with the police, has launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.At the time of going to print, firefighting operations were still under way to completely douse the flames.Visuals of dense black smoke billowing from the factory went viral on social media.
