The Akiveedu police summoned Naveen Kumar in a family dispute case filed by his wife, and allegedly beat him up severely. The victim consumed poison on May 11, and died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital the next day, the family members alleged.West Godavari police did not respond to the queries seeking clarification on the case.
