Precious BlandA Miami-Dade judge ruled Tuesday that Precious Leslie Bland, 43, is not guilty by reason of insanity in the 2021 drowning death of her own 15-month-old daughter.Bland drowned the baby in a bathtub filled with bloody water during what her defense team successfully sold as a “COVID-induced psychotic episode,” the Miami Herald reported. She told family members they needed to be “baptized” because “Jesus Christ is coming and COVID is going to kill us all.”When her husband resisted, she ordered their 16-year-old daughter to fetch a knife and then stabbed both her husband in the head and neck and the teen in the arm as the girl tried to save the baby. The toddler, identified in reports as Emii, was found face down in the bloody tub. Deputies arrived to a scene of absolute horror at the family home.Bland, a Navy veteran who served in Iraq and once provided security for President George W. Bush, had been acting strangely in the days before the attack. She went door-to-door warning neighbors not to take the COVID vaccine because it was “the mark of the devil.”On the day of the killing, she insisted the family get baptized in the tub so they could all go to heaven together. Resistance, in her delusional state, meant someone was a demon. She also stabbed herself during the rampage.Defense attorneys argued this was one of the first cases in the country to successfully use COVID-19 as the cause of temporary insanity in a murder trial.Psychiatrists testified Bland was in a full psychotic break, hearing voices and unable to understand the nature of her actions. Her lawyer Larry Handfield called the outcome a “glorious day” and blamed a “medical crisis brought on by COVID.”Bland had already been out on a $10,000 bond under house arrest with GPS monitoring since September 2025. The judge scheduled a hearing for conditional release with treatment and monitoring. She walked out of the courtroom after the verdict, telling reporters through tears, “God is good. This doesn’t bring back my daughter. I’m thankful. I love my children. Just ready to get my life back together, my husband and my children just move forward.”WATCH:Mother who drowned her baby daughter and then blamed it on COVID, found not guilty by reason of insanity.43-year-old Precious Bland said she drowned her baby in a bathtub due to a “psychotic episode” caused by COVID-19.Bland accused COVID of causing her to “baptize” her… pic.twitter.com/CFXtdZf5NY— Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) June 25, 2026The post Miami Mother Who Drowned Her 15-Month-Old Daughter in Bathtub “Baptism” to Save Family From COVID Found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
