My point was more that asking for a lawyer 'from the EU' without specifying the country is pretty dumb because even if someone was willing to help him, odds are they're from a different country to where he is and wouldn't know what to do. Even in the situation you discussed your lawyer would need to know the law of at least one of the countries involved.
