A ghost particle from Antarctica has led scientists to a hidden galaxy 11 billion light-years away, pointing to a new kind of cosmic neutrino source. A dust-cloaked star-forming galaxy called Shadow Blaster is now the strongest candidate for a high-energy neutrino detected in 2021. This discovery could explain up to one-fifth of the universe's mysterious neutrino background.
