Corporations Buybacks alter price patternsMicron Technology, Inc.BATS:MUMarthaStokesCMT-TechniTraderSo far in 2026 the SP500 corporations have the largest buyback volume in the history of buybacks. 1 trillion dollars has been invested by Giant major Corporations so far this year. That is a massive amount of money. Why do corporations use buybacks? To maintain their market cap and to entice speculation in their stock price OR to support their stock price when the company has a weak earnings report or other negative news. Buybacks also impact dividends as buybacks lower the actually total dividends paid as there are fewer outstanding shares. The candle patterns on MU chart show plenty of recent buyback patterns to study.
