Scottie Scheffler is in a world of his own right now and has claimed another piece of incredible golfing history.Scheffler vaulted up the leaderboard in this week’s $20million Travelers Championship with one of his best rounds ever on Friday.Scheffler has been brilliant at the Travelers ChampionshipGettyThe World No.1 shot 10-under-par at TPC River Highlands to top the leaderboard on 16-under, two ahead of Viktor Hovland.Scheffler won the Connecticut event in 2024 and is perfectly placed to claim his second victory of 2026 this weekend.Friday’s round also earned Scheffler another page in the history books.He became the first and only player in PGA Tour history to record every score from 59 to 79 without ever posting an 80 or higher.Scheffler has played over 590 career rounds on the tour and is yet to shoot a round in the 80s.He shot 59 in his rookie season in 2020 in the second round of The Northern Trust at the TPC Boston.He recorded a 61 on his way to winning the CJ Cup Byron Nelson last year, a 62 in his Phoenix Open win in 2022 and a 63 before claiming glory at The American Express in January.Scheffler was just inches away from carding a 59 at the Travelers on Friday, narrowly missing a 25-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole.Had he converted, he would have joined Jim Furyk as the only players in PGA Tour history with two sub-60 rounds.
