Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is finally getting some good news after one of its signature dining locations spent months behind construction walls.Disney has quietly updated its dining reservation system, giving guests their clearest indication yet that Yachtsman Steakhouse is preparing to welcome diners back before the end of the summer. While the company has stopped short of making a formal announcement, the latest change gives guests planning late August vacations something to look forward to.Credit: DisneyDisney Reveals Reopening TimelineAfter closing on May 11, 2026, for a lengthy refurbishment, Yachtsman Steakhouse now appears to be targeting an August 28 reopening. Disney’s online dining reservation system has opened bookings beginning that date, strongly suggesting the restaurant will resume operations then, even though Disney has not officially confirmed it.The update falls in line with Disney’s earlier guidance that the popular signature restaurant would return sometime in August. Now, guests planning vacations during the final days of the month can once again add the steakhouse to their itineraries. For many Disney fans, Yachtsman Steakhouse has long been one of Walt Disney World’s premier dining experiences. Located inside Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, the restaurant has earned a loyal following for its dry-aged steaks, seafood offerings, extensive wine list, and elegant New England-inspired atmosphere. What Changed? That’s still the biggest mystery.Disney has not shared any details about the refurbishment or whether guests should expect menu updates, interior redesigns, or operational changes when the restaurant returns. As construction continued behind closed doors, speculation among Disney fans ranged from simple cosmetic improvements to more significant interior renovations. Until Disney officially reopens the restaurant, guests won’t know exactly what has changed. If the work follows the pattern of several recent Walt Disney World restaurant refurbishments, visitors could see refreshed flooring, updated furnishings, lighting improvements, and other enhancements designed to modernize the space while preserving its overall identity.Whether Disney also refreshes portions of the menu remains to be seen.Yacht Club Resort Has Been BusyYachtsman Steakhouse hasn’t been the only project taking place at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort this year.Crew’s Cup Lounge, located adjacent to the steakhouse, also underwent its own refurbishment after closing in February 2026. That location officially reopened on May 10 with refreshed interiors and a slightly updated menu, giving guests one of the resort’s favorite lounges back while work continued next door. The overlapping closures temporarily reduced dining options at Yacht Club, especially for guests staying at both Yacht Club and neighboring Beach Club Resort. With Crew’s Cup already back in operation and Yachtsman Steakhouse now preparing to return, the resort is close to restoring its full lineup of dining experiences.Good News for Late Summer TravelersSignature dining reservations at Walt Disney World can disappear quickly, particularly for popular restaurants that have been unavailable for several months. Now that reservations have opened beginning August 28, guests visiting during Labor Day weekend or later in the fall may want to secure a table sooner rather than later.Although Disney still hasn’t formally announced the reopening, adding operating hours and accepting reservations is typically one of the final steps before a restaurant resumes service. If everything stays on schedule, Yachtsman Steakhouse should once again be welcoming guests before August comes to a close.Credit: DisneyWhat Else To Know About Disney Resort Closures in 2026 and 2027Yachtsman Steakhouse isn’t the only place seeing work at Walt Disney World.
