Aniplex has published a new major trailer for Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising-. It shows more scenes from the upcoming anime movie that is set to appear in Japanese theaters in August 2026. The story in Walpurgisnacht: Rising will take place after Rebellion in the series’ canon timeline. Although this movie is particularly touted to have a focus on Homura Akemi, the trailer also shows a sneak peek of combat scenes by Mami, Kyoko, and Sayaka. This trailer also particularly features music tracks composed by Yuki Kajiura. People can also listen to “Kanata” (Yonder), the movie’s theme song performed by the Kajiura-produced group FictionJunction, in the same trailer. Aniplex previously revealed it as early as September 2023 with a launch window in Winter 2024. In late February 2026, the company finally set August 28, 2026, as the movie’s new release date.
