I’m looking to commission a piece based on The Dresden Files. I’d strongly prefer an artist who has actually read the books or is at least familiar with the characters and overall feel of the series. Style-wise, I’m looking for something more raw, worn, atmospheric, and emotionally heavy rather than clean/anime-style character art. I like old-school painted fantasy realism in the Boris Vallejo/Frazetta direction, but I’m also very interested in high-contrast black-and-white ink work, horror/noir illustration, or gritty painterly styles. I want the characters to look like they’ve actually lived through some shit, not like polished fantasy models. This will be a personal-use piece that I will have James Marsters sign at a convention next month. Digital is fine, and traditional art is definitely welcome too. NO GENERATIVE AI please. ideally 11x14 at 300 DPl or higher. I'd like enough negative space somewhere in the composition for an autograph. Budget starting around $200, but I'm open to quotes depending on artist and style. If you’re interested, please link your portfolio and let me know if you’re familiar with The Dresden Files. I’ll give the selected artist the specific scene and details privately. submitted by /u/Brianf1977 [link] [comments]
