Did anyone become a nurse as a second career later in life?

Wait 5 sec.

I see a lot of posts about burnout and how exhausting this job is, but as someone who is tired of boring and mundane meaningless sales jobs, I've seriously been considering switching with an end goal of genetic research. The thing is I have zero medical experience (other than personal and family care taking) and getting a BSN this way opens a lot of doors I hadn't considered either, and also makes it easier to get a graduate degree in medical since I am not a traditional student. Anyway, my question is, how many of you did this late? Or as non traditional students? I'm not talking late 20s but older than that... and if you did was it worth it? I just see so many young vibrant nurses getting so burnt out so quickly and I worry that if it's this hard for you guys, maybe I'm making a mistake trying to do this when I'm damn near approaching middle age lol. Thank you for the insight. submitted by /u/Alarmed_Tea_2874 [link] [comments]
