Hey everyone! I’m a mechanical engineer who loves cars, and lately, I’ve been designing scratch-built Chibi-style car models and desk accessories engineered specifically for 3D printing. Instead of just making standard scale-downs, I’ve been trying to create unique automotive art for desk setups. But I want to make things that actual car guys actually care about, so I wanted to ask this community directly. If you have a 3D printer (or if you were to get a custom model for your desk), what gets you most excited? Pure Display Models (Chibi/stylized models of iconic cars, JDM, trucks, classic muscle, etc.) Functional Desk Gear (Dashboard-style organizers, pen holders, phone mounts) Mechanical / Working Gimmicks (Functioning car lifts, moving engine parts, garage dioramas) Display Bases for Diecast / Hot Wheels Also, if your dream car or idea isn't listed, what specific car or desk gear would you love to see brought to life? (I uploaded a few photos of my recent builds for reference — I'd love to hear your honest feedback!) submitted by /u/HugeBookkeeper5220 to r/CarGuys [link] [comments]
