Can a Break Above 160.30 Trigger the Next Bullish Wave?USD/JPYOANDA:USDJPYforexcitypro_leemeenalUSD/JPY | Can a Break Above 160.30 Trigger the Next Bullish Wave? ๐ Fundamental View Hello everyone, and welcome back to another TradingView market analysis! ๐น๐ Today we're looking at USD/JPY on the 4-hour timeframe, where price is approaching a major resistance zone and the next breakout or rejection could determine the medium-term direction. ๐ฆ๐ต Fed, DXY & Interest Rates One of the key fundamental supports for the U.S. dollar remains the high U.S. interest-rate and Treasury-yield environment. The Federal Reserve raised its policy rate by 25 bps in September to 3.75%โ4.00%. The latest Fed minutes also showed that many policymakers considered another rate hike later this year appropriate, although softer employment and inflation data have reduced expectations for an immediate October move. Federal Reserve๎ At the same time, U.S. Treasury yields remain elevated, with the 10-year yield trading around the 5.2%โ5.3% area in early October. High U.S. yields can continue to support the dollar and maintain a significant yield advantage over the Japanese yen. FEDPOLICY.ORG๎ Japan is also moving toward tighter monetary policy, with the BoJ policy rate around 1.25%. Therefore, yen-strength risk cannot be ignored, especially around future BoJ communication and policy decisions. The next BoJ meeting is scheduled for October 29โ30. ๆฅๆฌ้่กใใผใ ใใผใธ๎ Nevertheless, the current U.S.โJapan yield differential remains an important structural factor supporting USD/JPY, which keeps the medium-term bullish argument alive. ุดุจูุฉ ุชูุงุตู ุงูุฅุฎุจุงุฑูุฉ๎ ๐๐ฅ Technical Analysis On the 4-hour chart: ๐ธ Major resistance: 160.30 ๐ธ Key support: 155.20โ155.50 ๐ธ Lower support: around 152.30โ153.00 ๐ธ Current price: around 158.30 Price has recovered strongly from the support area and is now approaching the major 160.30 resistance. ๐ Bullish Scenario A confirmed 4H candle close above 160.30, followed by a successful retest, would strengthen the bullish structure considerably. In that case, I would consider staged Long entries after confirmation, rather than blindly buying the first breakout candle. Breakout + Retest = Higher-quality bullish setup ๐๐ฅ โ ๏ธ Pullback / Fake Breakout Scenario However, 160.30 is an important resistance and we should expect the possibility of rejection. USD/JPY could temporarily move lower before attempting another breakout, particularly if U.S. yields or the dollar experience a short-term correction. The 155.20โ155.50 support zone is therefore extremely important. A temporary move below the marked range followed by a fast recovery could represent a liquidity sweep / fake breakdown, rather than a full trend reversal. ๐ง On the other hand, a strong break and sustained trading below the main support would invalidate the current bullish structure and force a reassessment of the outlook. ๐งญ Final View For now, my overall bias remains: ๐ข BULLISH โ UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE ๐ The combination of elevated U.S. rates, high Treasury yields and the existing yield differential can continue to support USD/JPY. But the market still needs to deal with the 160.30 resistance. ๐ข Break above 160.30 โ Bullish continuation ๐ข Breakout + Retest โ Preferred Long setup ๐ก Short-term pullback โ Possible and healthy ๐ก Fake breakout โ Possible rejection and correction ๐ด Strong break below support โ Bullish thesis weakens So for now, I remain bullish on USD/JPY until the market proves otherwise. ๐๐ฅ ๐ TradingView Poll Do you think USD/JPY can break above 160.30? ๐ข YES โ Bullish Breakout ๐ ๐ด NO โ Fake Breakout & Correction ๐ ๐ก Pullback First, Then Higher ๐ โ ๏ธ Disclaimer | This analysis is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute financial or investment advice.
