100% Because if it truly was for his “car guy” they wouldn’t mind waiting until the 15th. Plus, only someone desperate for drug money would have the audacity to still ask for money after learning of a death in the family. I also doubt that when the 15th rolls around that he would have paid OP back. There would be either a bullshit excuse or there would be complete radio silence.
