A fleet of Breeders' Cup hopefuls was on the worktab Saturday morning at Santa Anita as they continued preparations for the World Championships at Keeneland.Returning to work for the first time since securing his automatic berth into the GI Breeders' Cup Mile, Cabo Spirit (Pioneerof the Nile) led the George Papaprodomou string with a five-furlong breeze on the main track in 1:03.60 (14/69). Richard Baltas's GI Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint contender Sweet Azteca (Sharp Azteca) also worked five furlongs, and did so handily in 1:01.60 (30/69).Phil D'Amato had Gold Phoenix (Ire) (Belardo {Ire}) and Iron Man Cal (Collected) at the same distance but sent the former over the all-weather training track. Gold Phoenix was clocked in :59.80 (9/19) while the latter, breezing on the dirt, posted 1:00.40 (10/69). D'Amato's Majestic Oops (Majestic Harbor) worked three furlongs in :36.20 (4/34) in her first move since finishing second in the GII Zenyatta Stakes.
